About Us:
Perth
Radio Electric Car Club is a radio controlled electric car club, racing on-road
electric touring cars indoors on carpet. Perth Radio Electric
Car Club, or PRECC in short, celebrated 20 years of operation in 2003. Founded
in 1983, attendance averaged 12 drivers per week and now 20 years later the club
has grown substantially, and in 2007 the average was 35 to 45 drivers of all ages every week. Racing is held on
Tuesday nights, doors open at 5.30pm where it is all hands on deck for track
setup, with driver nominations from about 6pm, and racing commencing at
7.00pm.
The last race usually finishes at around 10.00pm, were all hands on deck to pack
up as quickly as possible.
On an
average night we have either 5 or 6 classes of racing controlled by our fully automated
computer equipment using "Alycat RC Timing Software" and "AMB-i.t. Timing
Equipment".
Our motto, 'In The Spirit Of Fairness' governs us in the way that our club is run.
Every decision that is made relates to these words of wisdom to ensure that the
best is achieved from both Driver and Club. Here at PRECC we have many futuristic plans for the next 10 years, planning to grow in
drivers and strength and to become a host of World Class events. We plan to
build and run our own full time complex complete with indoor and covered outdoor tracks
for both On and Off road racing featuring a Pro Shop & Service Centre.
All
our Class now use only Rubber Tyres. Our club rules are based on AARCMCC rules.
Novice 540 Touring, our
starter/new to indoor carpet racing class, where drivers can come and have fun
in their entry level (box stock) purchased car, and learn to drive these awesome beasts.
Everyone new to Indoor Carpet Racing must begin in this class.
Stock Touring class is for those who drool for the action of Touring Car
racing. The specifications for this class are similar to Stock except the motor
is restricted to a 27x1 Turn Stock motor.
Stock Brushless Touring class is similar to Stock Touring, except the
motors used in this class are "Stock Brushless". As yet, these motors haven't
been approved by AARCMCC, but PRECC is allowing them on club nights only.
Modified
Touring class is an open motor class, whether it be Brushed or Brushless. Spectators are in awe at
the incredible acceleration and speed of these 1/10th
scale Touring Cars controlled by outstanding drivers.
Promotion through the classes is by reaching the standards set by the Race
Committee in both Driver Skill and car reliability. You must also become a
member to progress.
Please
read the class specifications on our Rules page.
